The 2023 TT Round Up
It's been a big year for us here at TTHQ. We celebrated World Poetry Day, went on some right-royal adventures for the coronation, spent 30 days outdoors, had a spectacular summer and brought back the fan-favourite Trail Mail Challenge. Plus, most importantly, we launched the long-anticipated Treasure Trails App for on-the-go exploration!
Our Trail Writers have been busy bees, too, with 18 new Trails added to the catalogue in 2023, and a couple of old favourites brought back too. In case you missed them, you can find all of them below, with the most recent addition first:
Dover, Kent
Your self-guided spy mission Trail will see you stealthily sneaking around the ferry port town of Dover. Blend into your surroundings along pavements, seafront pathways and open green spaces as you seek out those mega-sneaky clues.
Two Blackliffe Brothers have gone rogue! After creating the darkest shade of black ever known, they plan to make a lasting impression - by spraying the White Cliffs of Dover with their newly discovered colour loaded into a giant spray gun! The last brother, though, is doubting their plan - and desperately needs the assistance of some super spies...

Sandwich, Kent
This self-guided treasure hunt Trail will see you take you on an intriguing adventure around the historical town of Sandwich. You'll dodge booby traps around the town centre, evade rival treasure seekers along the banks of the River Stour, and even bravely search close to the town's renowned cricket club for vital clues.
Long ago, infamous local explorer Captain Willoughby Eaton returned from exotic overseas destinations bearing incredible treasure - a huge, perfectly round Black Pearl! Entrusted to the folk of the town of Sandwich, the irreplaceable gem has been STOLEN and held to ransom. You'll need to really shine on this curious quest to return the priceless gem!

Silverdale, Lancashire
This curious case sees you investigating from the base of The Shore car park in Silverdale. It will take you on a tour of the village's pretty lanes and footpaths, with some glorious views across Morecambe Bay doing their very best to distract you from solving the clues along the way, before finally cracking the case back in the village centre.
Chief Evan Acklew is doing his crust - local legend Cherry Bakewell has come to a sticky end - just as she was expected to run away with the top prize in this year's Cream of the Cream Cakes competition! Chief Evan is enraged and wants only the hottest of Detectives on the case. Can you rise to this unusual challenge and bring the bad egg to justice?

Weston Park, Shropshire
This circular treasure hunt Trail will see you exploring the amazing 1,000-acre Weston Park estate with its pretty landscaped gardens. Family-friendly adventure awaits you, so don't get too distracted from your quest - searching for Daffydd and Eliza's long-lost love spoon...
That's right, Weston Park labourer, Daffydd, fell in love with scullery maid Eliza. As a token of his affection, he carved her an intricate love spoon and hid it in their favourite meeting spot. Sadly, Eliza never discovered it. Now, centuries later, it's up to you to finally unearth this special gift by solving the crucial clues and identifying the hiding place.

Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire
If you go down to the woods today...you better keep your eyes peeled! This self-guided treasure hunt Trail will take you on a circular route around Dalby Forest, following the Elleburn Red Trail. Make sure you keep to the route at all times - this is a magical place.
Back in World War II, the Lumberjills took care of the forest. To thank them for all their hard work, the Dalby Sprites gifted them with a mystical golden axe. It was stashed away after the war, but a local historian thinks she's found a map that will lead you to it. But beware, there are plenty of creatures who'd love to get their hands on all that gold...

Holland Park, Greater London
Holland Park - a quiet, respectable suburb - until bird-brained thief Maggie the Magpie swoops in and steals poor Iva Lott's unguarded sparkler! Professional jewel thief Nick Gems has caught wind of this event and is hatching plans to capture the gem piece for himself...
This self-guided treasure hunt takes place around Holland Park in West London. That means you'll be searching plenty of wide-open spaces and urban settings that will tempt you to stray from your retrieval mission! Stay alert as your curious quest takes you past bars, restaurants, statues, ponds and playparks aplenty!

Boroughbridge and Aldborough, North Yorkshire
This puzzling self-guided detective mystery Trail will see you leading your searching for clues around the ancient town of Boroughbridge and it's equally historical neighbouring village of Aldborough. You'll need to be at your best searching along shopping streets and quiet leafy areas as you follow a circular route around these picturesque locations.
There's been a right Roman robbery... Ancient mosaics have been pilfered and replaced by fake plastic block couterparts - and the local community is understandably devastated! They desperately need you to team up with DCI Terry Cotter to piece together enough evidence and bring the despicable criminals to justice.

Boston, Lincolnshire
This self-guided spy mission Trail (should you choose to accept it!) will see you stealthily searching around the centre of Boston to seek out some super-sneaky clues. You'll be winding your way along pretty pavements, pleasant pathways and quaint cobbled lanes in a bid to thwart twisted tea-mad genius Dr Errol Grey's plan to ruin EVERYONE's early mornings in this charming market town.
Our insider, Agent Bev Ridge has called for the cream of the crop - that's where you come in - to help solve the clues and decipher where evil Grey's henchmen are hoarding their ill-gotten beans and granules...

Rugby league star Arf Bach has been discovered turned over in John Smith Stadium car park. Police have been busy tackling this inquiry but need help from TOP detectives willing to give this case a punt. Are you ready to intercept this investigation? Solve the clues scattered across the town to reveal the culprit and the evidence they left behind.

Huddersfield Greenhead Park, West Yorkshire
Daring explorer Barnaby Wild was idly walking under a tunnel in Greenhead Park when he was teleported through a wormhole! He's landed in a topsy-turvy universe called Redfoot Drive, where everything is backwards, including his map. He needs adventurers need to crack the clues in THIS universe and find the portal so he can come home.
The self-guided treasure hunt takes place entirely within Greenhead Park. That means no roads to cross but plenty of wide-open spaces where rival explorers might spot you! Stay alert as your curious quest takes you past statues, pools and even a miniature railway.

Battersea Power Station, Greater London
Your self-guided detective mystery Trail takes you around the Battersea Power Station and past the famous Dogs and Cats Home. You'll need to keep your eyes peeled as you search high and low for sneaky clues and fur-ensic evidence. Be warned - this case could get a little hairy...
Anonymous activists are threatening to break out the animals at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home! According to intel, they plan to lure the pets to the nearby Power Station and let them loose to cause a mess. DCI Kat Dawgsholme needs help from TOP sleuths to get paws on the main culprit before they enact their wild plan.

Pudding Lane to Pye Corner, Greater London
Your self-guided treasure hunt will take you from Pudding Lane to Pye Corner as you search for the historical hoard. You'll travel from the Monument to the Great Fire of London, near where the fire broke out, and finish at Farringdon, beyond where it was finally extinguished.
Back in 1666, as the fire spread across the city of London from the little bakery in Pudding Lane, treasure from the churches was carted to Farringdon to make sure it didn't melt in the blaze. But not all the precious items were returned! We need YOU to locate the lost loot likely pilfered by light-fingered merchant Nick Stuffe, who suspiciously profited from the chaos.

Ballycastle, Co. Antrim
This detective mystery investigation will take you through the small seaside town of Ballycastle (Ballykessel/Baile an Chaistil). You'll conduct your inquiries along the harbour, the beach, and out to Bonmargy Friary, before returning to the town to collect the final evidence needed to identify the crafty crook.
This terrible crime will leave a bitter taste in your mouth. Famed as one of the best bistros in Ballycastle, 'Betty's Bites' is a name everyone knows. But, last night, it was burgled! Could the guilty party be a rival? A dodgy diner? A disgruntled employee? It's up to YOU to find out!

Your expedition will take you through the leafy West London suburb of Chiswick. You'll pass along lovely streets and greens, explore the stunning grounds of Chiswick House, visit Old Chiswick, and meander along the river, all while hunting for vital clues.

Middleham, North Yorkshire
There's no time for horsing around as you tackle this treasure hunt around the picturesque Dales market town of Middleham, the childhood home of King Richard III. Don't get distracted by the pretty scenery on this right royal quest - there are vital clues to crack and rival explorers to beat!
Foal play is suspected after the golden Richard III trophy mysteriously vanished from the stables of Willie Jumpit. Willie, saddled with shame at being accused of this a-fence, tried searching for the stolen trophy himself but sadly fell at the first hurdle. Can you track down the lost treasure and prove Willie's innocence?

Sheffield, South Yorkshire
It's time to give an evil genius his just desserts on this spy mission Trail around the industrial side of Sheffield. Dr Stayne Less is so fed up with noisy nibblers that he's forking out revenge. He's designed a device that, when activated, will cause all pieces of cutlery within a 10-mile radius to become very bendy!
To decipher the deactivation code, you'll need to tiptoe past the cathedral, gather intel through the historic streets and dodge detection beams beside the quays. Keep a sharp eye out for vital clues and horrid henchmen as you advance!

Portrush, Co. Antrim
Set your sights on success in Portrush (Tha Port/Port Rois) - a fishing village turned seaside resort - on this treasure hunt Trail. Journey through the winding streets, along the seafront and past the attractions. Keep a sharp eye out for hidden treasure and rival explorers as you go.
Can you unearth the stolen Spanish gold? Over 350 years ago, the pirate ship 'Golden Princess' ran aground off the coast of Portrush. The crew fled, carrying whatever treasure they could, every man for himself. One survivor was captured, but he never revealed the location of his hidden hoard. We need YOU to finally track down the ill-gotten gains.

A gang of thieves, calling themselves 'The Magpies', have hatched a horrid plan. They've created a device that will release an unbearably smelly substance to make everyone flee. Then, they'll don special masks and pinch whatever shiny things they can find. We need YOU to decipher the device's deactivation code to thwart this thieving scheme.
