Around The World Trip Puzzle
It’s winter, it’s time to plan an amazing around the world trip!
Remember those days backpacking through the Amazon Jungle with not a care in the world? No, me neither!
Anyway, at Treasure Trails we always like to take you on an adventure, so we've created this fantastic free puzzle for you to solve based around amazing (and often wacky) locations which can be seen on Google Street View.
As with any round the world trip though, you need to make sure you’re at the airport on time and on the right flight!
What you need to do
Step 1
This puzzle is best solved on a computer as it uses Google Street View which may not work on a mobile device (depending on your handset) and can get a bit fiddly when it does!
Once you are on your computer, download and print off your answer grid – you can keep a record of your answers on this, or if you haven’t got a printer, just copy the simple grid onto a sheet of paper.
Enter one answer per destination – and remember, it is important that you visit each destination in the correct order. (A grey rectangle indicates a space between two words).
Step 2
Starting at your departure airport shown on our (not so accurate) world map below, follow the flight path collecting the letters and numbers en-route to your next destination. The numbers and letters make up your flight code. There are 8 destinations (and 8 flight codes), and in order to solve the puzzle correctly you need to visit each destination in the correct order.
You can download the world map and print it out if you would prefer.
Step 3
Starting at START, follow the flight path on the map to the first destination collecting letters and numbers as you go. From the list below, find the flight code you have just collected on your first flight.
Carefully read the question about where you are going and then click on the link to go to the Google Street View scene. This will direct you to another webpage where you will need to search around to find the answer.
The answer can be found by spinning around, and sometimes you will need to use the zoom feature - you will not however need to move forwards from your starting location to find the answer.
Record your findings on your answer sheet, and then return back to this web page to follow the route for your next flight and repeat step 3!
Want to make things a little bit more spicy?! Why not give yourself 2-minutes at each location to solve the clue. You can use an timer on YouTube, or just use your watch (you got for Christmas?!).
