In an attempt to reclaim the towpaths, he's set up a stinky trap. Hidden beneath the locks are stink bombs that release a rank, rotten egg-like smell when the lock gates move. Your top-secret assignment is to tiptoe past the locks and along the towpath to the village, then double back on the other side, past the Inclined Plane, to gather all the vital intel.
