Winchester - City & Cathedral

Before you set off on your awesome adventure, there are a few things you need to know...

This route is friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs, but please note that you will encounter cobbles, and wheelchair users may need to seek assistance or an alternative route to access the riverside from the road.

Bring your four-legged friends along! This Trail follows a dog-friendly route.

The closest long stay pay and display car parks to the Trail start point are at Colebrook Street (SO23 9LH) or at Chesil Street (SO23 0HU), both just a five-minute walk away.

There are some fantastic events in Winchester's calendar, including the amazing Christmas Markets and several fab festivals. During these events, some of the clues may become obstructed or difficult to access, in particular Clues 14 and 15, which cannot be accessed during the Christmas Markets. There are public toilets available towards the beginning and end of the Trail, and the route passes several pubs, restaurants and a few cafes along the way. If the weather is nice, the Abbey Gardens and Weir riverside are lovely picnic spots.
